State the outcome first

Tell the assistant what successful work should look like. For example: “Draft a short resident maintenance update explaining that the repair is scheduled but not completed.”

Provide only necessary context

Add the audience, situation, important facts and any terms that must remain unchanged. Avoid private customer information when it is not essential.

Set boundaries

Specify what the assistant must not invent: deadlines, prices, guarantees, citations or claims of completed work. Include the desired length, tone and language.

Request a useful output format

Ask for a draft email, an inspection checklist, a table of options or a concise summary. If you need review, ask it to mark assumptions separately.

Improve with one revision

Review the first answer, identify one concrete problem, then request a targeted change. Keep your final responsibility for checking facts and approving use.
